New Hospital Laundry in Detroit (USA)

Last year, Metropolitan Detroit Area Hospital Services (MDAHS) realized the  construction of a new, state-of-the-art laundry facility.  Since Lavatec installed the tunnel washing system at the old premise fourteen years ago, the company has again been selected to install the new wash equipment with the additional intention to reach better results and more energy savings.

Approximately 150 employees are  responsible for shipping over 2.5 million pounds of linen to its members each month. As from its founding, the business grew steadily with an addition of 47,000 square-feet 10 years ago. The new building is more than double the size at 115,000 square-feet. The sustainable design also consists of a wastewater heat reclamation system that includes eco-friendly cleaning of products and recycled materials. The drying portion of the company has its own  room to make the two-shift, five days a week operation more efficient.
