E-commerce in The Netherlands expects 20% growth in 2017 to €25bn

In 2016 E-commerce in The Netherlands reached a milestone; online expenditures of Dutch consumers for the first time outreached €20bn.

The biggest drivers for this 23% online growth were the increased consumer confidence and willingness to buy, as well as the acceptance of online shopping. Especially shoes, life style products, IT and (near)food are increasingly bought online.

With an expected growth rate of 20% in 2017 E-commerce will even account for about €25bn, according to ‘The Netherlands B2C Ecommerce Report 2017’ published by the Ecommerce Foundation.
