Increasing Life Time & Circularity
These days awareness is growing on the immens need to preserve the earth for Next
Generations. After Chemicals, Textiles are one of the major contributors to CO2 emissions. By intensifying cooperation in the textile supplychain, the Professional Textile Care Industry has an unique opportunity to contribute to lower CO2 emission levels of textiles into the world. Many stakeholders recognize that Fast Fashion is simply not acceptabel anymore. Scientific studies indicate that increasing the lifetime of garments (the number of cycle times), is resulting in huge CO2 savings. On top of that, processing by professional laundries and textile cleaning companies, results in extra CO2 savings, compared to domestic cleaning.

Since COVID, the speed of development of IT solutions for professional cleaning processes, seem to have accelerated. Robotization, Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as new other innovative processing technologies have been introduced successfully. And, an even more accellerated pace of innovation is expected for the future.

Many people feel working in laundries and textile cleaning companies not so appealing. Hard work, warm temperatures, long hours, limited career opportunities and moderate wages make only few youngsters to choose for a career in PTC.

IT and AI based marketing, integrated processing and servicing clients beyond their expectations is requiring understanding young (potential) clients, teamwork, new expertise and extensive knowledge.

For decades the demands of private clients of retail textile cleaners were dominated by fast fashion. At the same time over the years, cost increases resulted in many cases in drycleaners offering eroded product qualities and services.
Meanwhile, most P-labelled garments do not require professional processing anymore. Fast Fashion and New Lifestyles resulted in changed dressing habits and less need to “Go to the DryCleaner”. Convenience, time savings, specialised services , sustainability, etc, etc are becoming the most important drivers for business.
The small sized companies were forced to grow, to professonalize their organizations and above all to work on their marketing.

In many countries (including the so called economic mature countries not so long ago), the management of the industrial laundries were fully occupied in the operational processing of the laundry.
Personal Customer liaisons were dominant in the relationship and cost of services were leading factors in the sales.
Times have changed. Professional big clients in BtoB markets are demanding high profiled digital services. That requires a specialization, digitalization, knowledge and expertise to meet those requests. A certain scale of operation and expertise is needed for a profitable cost/quality performance.
This trend is globally developing by hospitality, industrial and to a less extend also health care clients and other customer target groups. However in different paces. For Industrial textile service companies it brings new challenges for organizing their services accordingly with an eye on long term opportunities at the same time.

Especially in situations were people and certainly also employees are vulnarable for risks of infections an adequate prevention of infection risks is necessary to control that effectively.
For this reason CINET have set up a CERCLEANr Certification system as an international standard for certifying Hygienical Clean laundries for Health care organizations, the food industry, etc. The system is easy to adopt, supporting new professionals with education and training, assisting in preparing audit files and providing International CERCLEAN r Certificates for Hygienical Clean Laundries.
COVID 19 made it painfully clear how vulnarable todays societies are for infections with virussen, bacteria etc. Initially nobody was able to provide adequate information as how to control the risk of further spread of infections. Let alone that an organization was prepared to provide advice and consultancy as how to control this effectively. That is the reason why CINET set up a an International Hygiene Committee to be able to advice adequately in situations like that.

8. Growth Hacker Award 24
Introduction
These days, the CINET Board decided to launch the “CINET Growth Hacker Award 2024”. It’s a follow up program after a successful Young Executive Program in 2020, where the Trophies were given to BLANC UK and WAUWcloset NL. This year, the stakes are increased big time as the participants can win 20.000 euro prize money. The award is part of the Global Best Practices Awards program, which will be organized at Texcare International in Frankfurt on November 8 – 9, 2024.
Goal: New Business & industry growth
The central theme of this award is ‘new business‘. The goal of the award is to stimulate PTC companies to service customer groups which weren’t serviced before, resulting in industry growth. A good example is the development of ‘wash & fold laundry services’, where consumers and commercial clients start outsourcing laundry that was previously done in a domestic washer at home. The CINET Growth Hacker Award is intended for promising startups as well as innovative existing PTC companies worldwide.
Criteria
The award will be judged based on qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data is derived from filling out the business model canvas. This is a simple frame used to visually explain a business case. The quantitative data is based on sales/revenue, #orders, #customers, retention rates, CAC (cost per acquired customer), ATV (average transaction value), CLV (customer lifetime value) and customer satisfaction scores such as Google ratings.

Program milestones
The program is designed for exchanging information, know-how and practical experiences between the participants and recognised experts. This will include a wide variety of topics. Participation can be by joining 3 – 4 sessions online. There will also be one or two personal encounters organized in Sweden and the UK in the months before Texcare in Frankfurt. These will be hosted by international esteemed brands in the industry. Participants are invited to discuss their ideas on new business in professional textile care and present their Business Case for an independent International Jury of experts, presided by Mr. Geert Boettger of EXPO + Consulting. This attractive CINET Growth Hacker Award will be chaired by Mr. Leon Wennekes of TextileCare Research.
