April 11-13, 2024, three days full of exciting topics, technologies and trends – that’s what awaited the guests at the Kannegiesser Laundry Forum in Vlotho, Germany. „The focus is on strengthening the relationship between textile service providers and Kannegiesser“, said Michael Harre, Managing Director Sales.
At the Kannegiesser Laundry Forum all those interested in the laundry industry from the DACH and Benelux regions were given an in-depth insight into the company. The program consisted of events on various laundry topics and tours of the plants in Vlotho and Sarstedt. Kannegiesser presented the latest developments in the large showroom.
Manufactured in Germany
With 250 visitors, the attendance at the Laundry Forum was huge. Not without reason – Kannegiesser experts with years of experience in the laundry industry gave valuable tips in presentations and workshops on topics such as spare parts management, machine maintenance, training, sustainability and digitalization. The factory tours in Vlotho and Sarstedt offered a deep insight into the great vertical integration of production. It became clear that Kannegiesser is investing in Germany as a production location.
Between the events and demonstrations, the inviting lounge provided a relaxed environment for exchanging ideas. Direct feedback in personal discussions provided information on what textile service providers are currently working on, which topics and challenges are currently in focus and how Kannegiesser can support the industry in this regard.
Innovations presented
The innovations presented included the DSS (Detecion and Sorting System), the dry laundry line with the RoboFeed feeding robot, the SynchroPro feeding machine and the SFM-E folding machine.
The DSS can identify shaped parts using RFID chips, detect foreign objects using X-ray images and then sort the laundry automatically. This makes it the perfect solution for preventing the risk of injury, laundry damage and damage to the machines..
The dry linen line can automatically feed, fold, sort and stack batches of 4 different items from a typical hotel & hospital towel mix at an average output of 600 items per hour. The integration of robotics into the laundry process is part of the solution to the challenge of a shortage of skilled labor.
The SynchroPro combines feeding performance, reliability and quality into a harmonious feeding process. With the swivel depositing bar, the leading edge enters the feeding machine with perfect quality. The item is elegantly picked up, gently deposited without overspreading and fixed with the strong vacuum without a clamping bar.
The SFM-E folds, sorts and stacks up to 6 different flat linen items in one batch. It processes up to 1,800 items per hour in single-lane operation and 2,000 items in double-lane operation. Despite the up to 6 stackers, the machine is also extremely space-saving, as all stackers discharge centrally behind the machine.
