Sveriges Tvätteriförbund 75 year Anniversary

The new Clarion Hotel in Malmö opened its doors 14 days earlier and served as a perfect location for this milestone in Swedish PTC history. This celebratory moment was supported by all major suppliers within the PTC industry and joined by roughly 90 participants representing all the large textile service companies in Sweden and some from the textile cleaning sector. The conference program filled the full day and presented a series of important topics that the industry in Sweden has to deal with at the moment. The informative day was carefully followed by all attendees and concluded with a special banquet dinner that was prepared by one of the top chefs from Sweden employed by the Clarion.

In Sweden, the Tvätteriförbund represents a significant part of the total industry. The textile service market has been growing despite the economic downturn mainly due to the increased demand for textile rental concepts. The total market is approximately 485 million euros. The dry cleaning market is estimated at approximately 50 million euros with characteristics of a saturated market. Although the number of cleaners is declining some new market perspective for dry cleaners is discovered by offering services in the B2B segment.
