Company with a vision ….

Germany-based third-generation family business VEIT GmbH was founded in 1956. With the arrival of Günter Veit (1975) and Christopher Veit (2014), proven tradition is combined with constant market-oriented development. The company – with over 300 employees worldwide and customers in over 100 countries – is a leading manufacturer of machines and systems for ironing, finishing, fixing, pressing and processing clothing. A German colleague medium recently interviewed both managers. Here’s an overview of their visions.

According to Günter Veit, the elderly care sector is a rapidly growing market all over Europe, as well as laundries that focus on workwear. Although the company manufactures in China – for instance ironing boards which are later combined with high-tech from Germany – and location costs are a big issue, the company makes a clear commitment to Germany as a business location and to preserve jobs.

As to sustainability, the company has firm beliefs. Buy products that last a long time, invest in products that not only use as little energy as possible, but also prevent unnecessary consumer waste and offer a pleasant working environment. Finally, work that machines can do should be left to them. People could then concentrate on work that machines cannot do. Strategies that could also take away pressure on the environment!
