MEMBERS:
The International Hygiene Advisory Committee is an independent body that has drawn its expert members mainly from the Hospital world as well as from the detergent industry.
Currently it has two members with a Dr / PhD degree in bacteriology, one Professor Dr in Bacteriology, One Infection Preventionist and two Application Experts [detergents]. This IHAC team is in frequent contact with internationally reputable organisations such as CDC, WHO and RKI.
OBJECTIVES:
- To create a reference guide for the most dominant hygiene threats
- To initiate an early warning system for emerging infectious diseases
- Communicate recommended solutions
- Create and adapt laundry protocols
Infection prevention has been on the radar of all laundry facilities in the last 4 years.
The committee created the early warning system [mentioned above] and scans the globe for any new outbreak that might have an influence on the laundry industry.
The results of this scan are than communicated through hygiene alerts and hygiene updates. Not only about COVID19, but also other outbreaks such as Bird Flu, Mpox [formerly known as Monkeypox], Nipah Virus and Noro Virus.
The Hygiene alerts contain recommendations how the laundries should react on any newly reported outbreak. These alerts and hygiene updates can be found on the web site of CINET.
