2nd FAPET Convention 2024 Ivory Coast: Raising Awareness with Industry Professionals, Clients and Stakeholders

The FAPET Convention in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, registered some 200 attendees from 10 countries in North West Africa, to discuss the importance of hygienically clean deliveries in Health Care (hospitals/elderly homes), and Hospitality (hotels) as part of gaining knowledge and expertise on modern Professional Textile Care. At this occasion CINET introduced the CERCLEAN® International Certification, whilst emphasizing the need for hygienical clean delivery and usage of textiles in these applications.

Hygienically Clean Textile Care

During a 3 hour session CINET introduced the Hygienically Clean Concept of textile care, together with several international experts, including  Mr. Frédéric Whecler of TDU and Mr. Simon Hemmes of CINET (presented by Mr. Peter Wennekes) explained the risks of applying textiles not meeting the required  standards according to the Risk Analysis & Biocontamination Control (RABC) EN 14065. As to the question how to organize this, the CERCLEAN® International Certification was explained. A practical, digitalized guideline for an effective and efficient organization for a “Hygienically Clean” service of textiles.

As a result of this FAPET Convention a detailed program of workshops and study meetings will be organized with a specific focus on Medical applications in North-West Africa.

Africa & Global Best Practices Awards 2024

At this 2nd FAPET event also the first CINET – FAPET Africa BEST Practices Awards 2024 were organized. Some 25 companies out of 10 countries were registered as participants. After an evaluation of the jury 10 companies from 5 countries were invited as FINALISTS to present their company to the International Jury and the audience in the Conference.

Eventually the Africa Overall Award was presented to Mr. Abdoulaye Ouologuem, Manager of Leader Pressing from Mali, the Innovation Award was for Pressing Belaroussi from Algeria and the Sustainability Award was for Arno Pressing from Cameroun.

The event underlined once again the value of the CINET Best Practices Awards concept for stimulating networking and new relationships for speeding up business development.

After a full day Introduction & Guidance Workshop May 21st and based upon the E-Learning materials of the CINET World of PTC Business School, Modern PTC technologies and methodologies were discussed, focusing on introductions for both retail textile cleaning and industrial laundering. At the end of the afternoon  an exam was taken from a first group of 20 participants. The results were shared with the participants the following day and Mr. Jean Michel Ndoussa from Ivory Coast was rewarded with the “Best Africa Best Practices Professional Award 2024”.

During the whole event the participation of (international) suppliers was beyond expectation. Of course good knowledge and expertise was provided, but certainly also the numerous practical questions from the audience could be answered adequately.
