Swedish textiles supplier VarUnik is now launching an integrated circular service aimed at hotels with a strong climate focus. With the new brand ‘Rethink Textiles’, the company intends to help hotels in their attempts to reach their environmental goals. The new brand is a circular subscription service that includes communication, inspiration, education, laundry service and textiles.
The service is aimed at hotels that have their laundry service taken care of by an external laundry and care about the planet’s resources. The textiles provider considers sustainability to be a cooperation between the guest, the hotel, the laundry service, the textile producer and players in recycling and reuse. As Sofia Stahl – the company’s founder and CEO states: “If we work together, we can bring about real change”.
The textiles in the subscription service are traceable through so-called RFID code (Radio Frequency Identification) in order to collect the customers’ unique washing data, Based on the hotel’s own data, customers are offered training on how to avoid unnecessary washing. This method is to extend the life of the textiles and save both energy and costs. Recently, an agreement was signed with environmentally certified Samhall, which will manage the laundry service at 22 locations around the country.
