Laundry chemicals are often used to help remove stains, oils, and other contaminants found in the textile goods during a wash process. Under normal conditions, the chemicals are properly dosed and adequately rinsed in order to prevent damage to the textiles and shorten their life span. In that respect launderers should be aware and watch out for any damage that may arise in the laundry process. For instance, washing heavily soiled items together with lightly soiled goods will no doubt have that negative effect.
Overloading the washer with goods should be avoided. It could mean that water and chemicals won’t be able to adequately reach all the goods, further decreasing the effectiveness of the wash. Proper PH levels should be maintained, since improper pH levels after final rinse may cause yellowing. Some other points of attention: bleach carryover, caused by too much bleach or not enough rinsing is a common fault. High alkalinity, usually caused by adding too much sour, can cause a reaction that forms dissolved salts in the wash solution.
