In the UK, Micronclean has successfully commissioned its recently installed solar panels on the roof of the company’s plant in Louth, Lincolnshire. All through the year, the solar array of 577 panels will supply 20% of the plant’s annual electricity requirements. The site is home to one of the most technically advanced ISO Class 6 (GMP Grade C) cleanroom laundries in Europe, with the capacity to process more than 120,000 items a week.

Electrolux Professional Group – a global provider of food service, beverage and laundry solutions – has revealed its target to reduce indirect use phase emissions of sold products by 27.5% by 2030. Together with the target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its industrial operations by 70% by 2030, the company’s aim has now been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi – a partnership between the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
