GBPAP 2022: Profiling PTC to millions of stakeholders worldwide

In most countries, the Professional Textile Care industry is only poorly recognized by clients, end users, governmental bodies and other stakeholders. In the past, publicity regarding laundries and drycleaners usually was negative and often related to environmental issues. In 2010 it became clear that the industry is doing an excellent job, also when it comes to sustainability.

However this message was not clearly communicated by the industry to profile its own performance and contribution to the society. Outsiders simply often do not know about the existence of the industry at all or expect an outdated picture of old fashion activities. The PTC industry simply does not communicate enough to their customers and stakeholders. CINET’s Global Best Practices Awards Program is an initiative to change that situation and present modern, professional PTC Showcases to the respective countries and demonstrate their performance and contribution to societies.

Transformation

Especially in the last decade a transformation towards more advanced professional organizations in the industry is taking place. Modern PTC companies implement innovative processing and clear policies when it comes to quality, sustainability and customer services. Hence, gradually more positive PR is and can be realized. This transformation process is supported by the Global Best Practices Awards Program, resulting in massive positive PR with a reach of many millions of contacts, mostly in the participating countries.

Stimulating PTC companies

As earlier editions, also the 5th GBPAP 22, organized October 21st last in Milan, reached high numbers of professionals within the industry, but certainly also outside the industry. In Room Martini at the first day of EXPO Detergo some 250 professionals followed the 46 Pitches of selected Finalists out of the participating Official Nominees. These companies showcased PTC representing their country. At the end of the day the presentation of the Global Awards, including the Country Awards of 32 Countries was overwhelming. The Program was streamed via Zoom and followed by thousands of people around the world who witnessed the implementation of innovations in services and processing resulting in high quality, sustainable solutions of professional organizations, in a variety of market circumstances.

Reach of millions

Not only CINET communicated about this GBPAP Program via live-streaming, followed by mailings, publications in trade magazines and Social Media, but also sponsoring partners and most of all participating Official Nominees profiled their achievements. Altogether, this resulted in publications in National and Regional Newspapers and Magazines, but also in news items and documentaries on Radio and TV, as well as via Social Media. It is not easy to assess the reach of all of these activities, but the feedback received at the CINET secretariat points into the direction of many millions of contacts of positive PR globally. Certainly the Award Winners of the Overall Global Awards, but also the Winners of Country Awards and Official Nominees are extremely proud and published their scores as being one of the world’s best actively and intensively.

Best Practices & CERCLEAN

Already in 2010 CINET communicated the outcome of scientific studies on Best Practices in retail and industrial processing, proving that Professional Textile Care is 2 – 3 times more sustainable than washing at home. Recent studies confirm this outcome. This performance is applicable when Best Practices as stipulated in the CERCLEAN International Reference Certification scheme are applied. It assures “State of the Art” processing according to the highest sustainable standards. It also underlines: PTC is the Better Way to do Laundry. That is the image of PTC to be profiled worldwide.
