Can you please share with us your current position/job and profile of the organization you work for? President Oceanside Cleaners

In which countries and market sectors of Professional Textile Care did you work and did you gained experiences? USA

Could you please describe the most important characteristics and trends of the current PTC markets in terms of customer/market demand characteristics and trends? In our market the current trend with piece counts is declining on an average of 10% each year regarding drycleaning, laundry, and households.

What do you see as the most important success factors for todays PTC companies? Hiring the best staff and having a through training process and also focusing on running a lean business.

What are your organization objectives and when would you consider your organization to be successful? We want to be the best service provider in our market area while providing a positive culture for our employees.

What do you consider the most important future demands of clients in PTC markets? Hiring and training and a focus on running lean with respect to our environment.

What are key issues for the PTC companies to fulfill future demands of clients and PTC markets? Can we hire and train the correct staff to meet these needs. We have to run lean to keep pricing fair while making a profit.

How important is sustainability / circularity for your current business performance and what do you do to improve your performance as an organization? Sustainability is vital to surviving. We have a responsibility to always look to improve wherever we can.

Do you see sustainability as an important driver for (new) business or as a factor for saving costs? Both. Some new customers look for this at the same time we want to be a steward of the community with regards to the environment.

Do you see technical innovation as a key factor to enhance your business performance, and what technologies are essential to provide sustainable and profitable PTC services in the future? Absolutely it is key to future survival.

What do you see as the most important innovations of the (near) future and how do you believe these innovations will change the way the industry operates? 24/7 kiosks and automation to process a high number of pieces while maintaining a high quality.

According to many publications, a transformation of the PTC industry towards more customer and IT driven processing, is seen as essential to be successful in the future. What is your policy to adapt your business/service model to changing market demands? We have and will continue to invest in future IT and automation.

We have seen an enormous increase in scale of operation of PTC companies. Do you see there will be attractive opportunities also for the more smaller companies and what is needed for small companies to be successful? The smaller providers are going to struggle to maintain a profit level to continue business long term.

How do you feel the PTC industry can take more market share in the markets of textile cleaning, compared to domestic washing? We are experts at spotting and finishing textiles. Our industry uses full loads to minimize the environmental impact.

What do you see as major opportunities for the professional laundry and cleaning industry for the longer term future? There will always be a demand for our services.

What do you see as major threats for the PTC industry in the coming years? PFAS, labor, and the cost of doing business.

What would you say industry (inter-)national associations should do to support the PTC industry professionally, now and in the future? CINET has been the premier leader in training us with sustainability and starting a relationship with other associations to help operators.

What is your vision on the future perspective of the industry? We are investing in our current plant with a large expansion and investing in the correct equipment to help us compete. We are also investing in our staff with ongoing training.

What is your key-message to your professional PTC colleagues for now and in the future? Work on your business while maintaining an influence in the day to day operations.
