Sustainable Solutions for Health Care Laundry

Commissioning | Interhospitalia Barcelona! Recently, TBR B.V., on behalf of Christeyns, provided solutions to an industrial laundry at a hospital in Barcelona. With these innovative technologies, a total energy saving of 30% is achieved on the industrial ironer, reducing CO2 emissions at various points in the process.

What has been delivered?
• Heat-X Air E: A condensing heat exchanger that cools the exhaust air from the ironer and achieves up to 15% energy savings. This technology is commonly applied to steam and gas-driven ironers with outgoing hot air streams that would normally be lost through the roof.
• Heat-X Air C: This air-to-water heat exchanger transfers waste energy from flue gases to fresh water, enabling 15% energy savings on the ironer’s energy input.
• Heat-X Oil Extract: Filters wax and textile fibres via the Heat-X Air E from condensate in the exhaust air from the ironer. The filtrate is separated and disposed of separately.
• HX Collector – Stainless steel pressure vessel of 2.5m³: For storing and distributing recovered energy via the Heat-X Air E and C.

Advantages of this technology:
• Save 30% energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
• Self-cleaning, plug-and-play solutions for quick installation and less downtime.
• Controlled by the TBR Control Unit, remotely readable.

Together we are taking steps towards a more sustainable future!
