Nowadays, customers are constantly scrolling and algorithms constantly shifting. They experience more distractions than ever. Reaching customers is tough and for laundromat owners it means: if your message isn’t clear, it’s invisible. Some digital marketing instruments that could help:
1. Message. If your signage, website, ads or social media don’t immediately answer what makes your location better, you’ve already lost the audience. Make a clear statement of value. Are you faster? Cleaner? Offering pickup and delivery?
2. Presence. Put your message where your ideal customer is already spending time: Google, your front window, your website, maybe Instagram or Facebook. Not everywhere, choose the right places.
3. Foot Traffic. People don’t just walk in anymore – they check you out online first. Keep your Google Business current. Add real photos. Make sure your hours, services and delivery zones are accurate and easy to find. Ask for and – most importantly – respond to reviews. It’s a matter of clarity + consistency + follow-through.
4. Collecting and using data. As you collect data on your customers, you’ll be able to focus on the customer’s entire experience journey; from before they found your location, to their experience during their visit, to what happens post-visit.
5. Establish Expertise, Authority and Trust (EEAT). As AI-driven search and voice assistants get smarter, your laundromat’s online presence needs more than keywords – it needs real answers. Before you follow the latest social media trend or app, ask yourself: Are you showing up consistently with a clear message, knowing where your current and potential customers are and what they might need?
However, there’s no universal answer. If you have a small team, start small: pick one channel to improve – e.g. reviews or signage. The bottom line? Message + Clarity + Consistency!
