As part of an early-planned succession process, the Germany-based BÜFA Group has started a structured transition in management.
Dr. Moritz Fichtmüller will assume the position of CEO at BÜFA early next year. Felix Thalmann – who has held this position in the family business for over ten years, will retire from active professional life next year at his own request.
Fichtmüller holds a doctorate in physics and grew up in Munich. During his academic career, he worked in various places around Europe, such as Paris and Oxford. His career initially led him into consulting before moving to the chemical industry, where he gained industry experience in management positions at Budenheim and Celanese. After a transition phase with Thalmann, Fichtmüller will fully assume responsibility as CEO in spring 2026.
