German company DBL has recently reported that 2022 presented a new sales record in the competitive market for rental professional clothing. Other upward trends that were presented are the number of employees and investments in more sustainable production techniques.
Some figures: sales of workwear in the rental service increased by almost 5% from EUR 212.6 million (2021) to EUR 223.0 million (2022), and in the mats area by 4% from EUR 19.6 million to EUR 20.4 million Euro. The group’s overall turnover increased by 6.4% to over 322 million euros. The company also reported that new investments almost doubled in the past year: from EUR 9.5 million to EUR 18.6 million. The investments were mainly related to renewable energies and more sustainable, resource-saving production technologies.
The company also states to focus on sustainable solutions for their logistics. In order to supply 67,000 delivery points nationwide – with more than 213,000 pieces of work clothing and 40 tons of floor mats every day – an increasing number of hybrid vehicles were used in 2022. The past financial year presented another success, according to the press release. Despite the overall shortage of skilled workers, the company’s workforce grew by more than 80 employees to 3,082.
