Michel Lubinsky and Fabian Baur from Geiss emphasized the significance of reconnecting with industry colleagues and customers in person after a prolonged period of restricted trade fairs and events due to the pandemic.
“Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, we are delighted to be back at such events where we can meet face-to-face, discuss innovations, and showcase our services directly,” noted Michel Lubinsky.
Geiss specializes in chemical solvents critical for the textile cleaning sector. However, their focus extends beyond more product offerings to encompass a comprehensive approach to sustainability. Fabian Baur elaborated, “Our core objective is to close the loop in our operations. We collect used goods from customers, process them at our facility, distill them, and reintroduce them as recyclate (virgin grade quality) into the cycle. This not only promotes sustainability but also significantly reduces our CO2 footprint, achieving over a 73% reduction compared to using fresh solvents (Perchloroethylene).”
This commitment to circular economy principles aligns with global efforts towards environmental conservation and resource efficiency. “Reusing and recycling are key pillars of our strategy,” added Fabian, highlighting Geiss’s role in mitigating global raw material challenges by reprocessing and reusing materials wherever possible.
