EcoVadis, Marriott International, Accor, Hilton, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Radisson Hotel Group and two hospitality group purchasing organizations—Avendra and Entegra—have recently launched the Hospitality Alliance for Responsible Procurement (HARP).
The alliance attempts to accelerate sustainable practices by promoting close collaboration with trading partners to build transparency and scale positive impact across their value chains. To achieve its goals, the alliance will use EcoVadis’ sustainability rating methodology, scorecards and improvement platform. This company’s Sector Initiative features are built as an antitrust-compliant network and enable more efficient supplier onboarding, transparency, as well as collaboration and analytics. HARP will gain more insight in the hospitality supply chain’s sustainability performance and allow members to align on the top priorities of their industry. To realize the targeted improvement and meet the requirements of the hospitality industry, member suppliers will have access to additional capacity-building and engagement activities, as well as tools and best practices.
More than 2,000 suppliers are rated upon the initiative’s founding and the alliance plans to further expand this number in order to increase insight into the sustainability performance of its supply chain and encourage maximum improvement.
