Finnish self-service launderette expands further in UK

Owned by Finnish parent company 24 Pesula Oy, 24 Laundromat has recently opened its third branch in the UK. The organisation has already been successful in two other UK locations. The company was established in 1999 by the seven Finnish Nevala brothers. As a result of their interest in technology, they saw an empty space in the market between launderettes and high technology machinery.

They started to design completely new washing machines based on a combination of their data research and technical skills. Until now they have successfully opened over 50 launderettes in Finland and three in the UK. Asko Nevala – the company’s chair of the board – stated that the Finnish home market has matured. For further business growth, they started to look for other markets.
