Fornet has strengthened its position in the Dutch textile care market with the acquisition of Clean Center Amsterdam, a well-established dry cleaning and laundry business located in De Pijp. The deal marks Fornet’s third location in Amsterdam, following the openings in Zuidas and Gelderlandplein, and supports its ambition to build a modern, scalable network of textile care stores across the Netherlands.
According to Léon Wennekes, founder and general manager of Fornet Netherlands, this step fits squarely within Fornet’s long-term strategy:
“Our goal is to transform existing dry cleaners into modernized stores powered by efficient processes, a digital platform, and a strong brand experience. The sector is full of skilled entrepreneurs and solid local businesses, but many need modernization to stay relevant in the next decade.”
Fornet’s strategy combines acquisition and franchising to create a nationwide platform of wet & dry cleaning, alterations, and shoe care stores under one recognizable brand. The company’s omnichannel model links physical stores with home pickup and delivery services by e-bike, making textile care more accessible and sustainable in urban environments.
