Earth Overshoot Day was on April 25 this year in Slovenia. It means that on that day, they had consumed everything the earth can produce on an annual basis. It is alarming that this day seems to occur earlier every year…!
Basically, it means that for everything we are to consume or produce in the remaining 2024 months, we will use the Earth’s reserves. You might also say that in order to meet our annual needs, we need 1.6 earths… Indeed, we have a real shortage and that shortage is steadily growing.

Can we still turn the tide? According to calculations by World Wide Fund for Nature, Earth Overshoot Day would occur 17 days later, if, for instance, we all eat 50% less meat.
