Dibella has introduced a new service for their textile service customers. On request, the company equips textiles ex works with LaundryChips (RFID tags), from Swiss company Datamars. Simon Bartholomes – the company’s head of purchasing – stated that for years the company has offered their customers the option to insert their own transponders into their linen and it was noted that customers often used Datamars – a pioneer in the field of industrially washable transponders.

The new service offers a considerable cost advantage, because it is much more cost effective to send large batches of chips bundled together for production than to send hundreds of shipments per year for individual orders.

The company is also working on another service: the option of reading out the chip numbers directly in their main warehouse and supplying them as a CSV file together with the delivery note. This will allow a textile service to remove the task of scanning new goods when the items are received. The CSV file is simply entered into the system and can be fed directly into the laundry cycle. However, as chip systems differ from company to company, implementation for all textile service companies will take some time and has to be developed together with customers.
