Zero-Carbon Laundry Facility

This is a European first, and potentially even a world first. On 4 June 2026, Netexial inaugurated a 100% decarbonised, fully electric laundry facility in Douvrin (Pas-de-Calais), dedicated to ultra-clean environments. The project represents an investment of €6.8 million and marks a clear departure from traditional industrial models that still rely on fossil fuels.

Covering 2,000 m², the facility — the largest of Netexial’s four cleanroom sites in France — houses two cleanrooms classified as ISO 5 and ISO 7. It is equipped with Kannegiesser barrier washers, Electrolux Professional dryers and Steelco autoclaves.

The stated capacity is 8,000 items per day, equivalent to more than 2 million garments processed annually, with each item individually tracked using UHF RFID technology. The facility primarily targets some of the region’s most demanding industrial sectors, including gigafactories, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, aerospace and food processing.

Zero gas. Certified according to ISO 50001, the facility operates using a combination of solar thermal panels and heat pumps. Netexial aims to achieve carbon neutrality across all of its sites by 2040.

Operational since October 2025, the site currently employs around 20 people and expects to grow to 50 employees by 2027. In addition to strengthening its regional network, the group also has wider European ambitions.

As Fabrice Shoshany, President of Netexial, summarises:

“This project demonstrates that it is possible to combine industrial performance, recruitment and employee training, high quality standards and environmental responsibility.”
