Kota Laundry Overall Winner and Finalist in Frankfurt
Surabaya, August 24-25, 2024
The Indonesia Association ASLI took the initiative to organize the Indonesia Best Practices Awards, supported by APLI, HIPLI, ILI, and IziloH associations. An audience of 500 professionals witnessed a fair competition between 10 finalists and saw Kota Laundry from Jakarta taking the Overall Retail Award. Classy Laundry from Surabaya won the Innovation Award, and Wafi Laundry from Bengkulu gained the Sustainability Award.
The Annual Meeting of the ASLI National Association became a great success. The audience was inspired and enthusiastic, with great lectures on a variety of topics and progressive performances in the Indonesia Best Practices Awards. Professional videos combined with brief PPTs and an answer to a surprise question were the ingredients for the evaluation by an international jury. The pitches demonstrated more professional marketing, conceptual thinking, modern management strategies, and an awareness of good customer services. Especially youngsters were involved and created presentations focused on youngsters.

The concept of “Best Practices” was clearly understood, and the presentations reflected good preparation. IT and AI are not so much implemented yet, as well as sustainability. However, marketing in “Kilo-One” laundries (Wash & Fold) is professionalized, and customer service has considerably improved. TEAM WORK was emphasized, and clearly, higher-educated youngsters are part of it. At the same time, experience quality cleaning is the basis of excellent customer services.
A special Entrepreneurial award was presented to Mr. Wasono Raharjo of Husada Medika Laundry. This professional industrial laundry was recognized for its Excellence as a supplier to the Healthcare & Hospitality sectors.
The cooperation with CINET in the Global Best Practices Awards appeared fruitful. Mr. Emil Dardak opened the event by providing a well-received message of support to the PTC industry. CINET CEO Peter Wennekes delivered speeches on the international PTC market trends and the upcoming WORLD CONGRESS on November 8-9, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany. It inspired participants as well as the visitors. For two days long, the room was full, and people stayed until the very end—perhaps also because traditional gifts were offered by suppliers via a lottery at the very end.
