Robotic arms for the Laundromat Industry

Robotics has long been a matter of science fiction. However, the use of this technology has been developing into various production capacities and has recently been adapted for the laundromat industry. The robotic arms developed by Dyna Robotics – founded in 2024 by entrepreneurs Lindon Gao, Jason Ma and York Yang – are designed specifically for laundry environments and can be used for repetitive, manual tasks that rely heavily on human labour.

According to the founders, the robotic arms can fold towels, napkins, or linens with regularity and speed, work alongside existing flatwork feeders and folding lines, fit into small back-of-house spaces, all while running at a fraction of the cost of traditional automation systems. They state that one of the keys to using robotic arms in this way is to deliver measurable ROI through labour savings and improved throughput. But it goes deeper than ROI.

The entrepreneurs are convinced that laundromat owners can scale their business without scaling their headcount and still deliver better consistency and service. They believe that the keys to successful laundromat ownership today are efficiency, adaptability, and smart investments. In short, the best operators are those who embrace tools that allow them to focus on growth and service.
