Hospitality Group Accor has recently launched the Accor Global Leadership Council (GLC) to reformulate business travel and professional meetings to 2025 and beyond. This advisory council joins business travel managers and buyers from 17 multinational companies across numerous sectors, including financial services, engineering, manufacturing, transport, energy, professional services, and technology.
The first session – recently held in Paris and led by Sophie Hulgard, the company’s Sales Director – presented key topics such as changing business and traveller expectations, the importance of personalized B2B loyalty programs, growing interest in sustainability, and trends in travel distribution and pricing. Council members – representing over 2.7 million travellers – identified three main priorities for business travel:
- Traveller Experience and Well-Being requires effective communication between client company employees and hospitality providers to guarantee traveller well-being and safety, but also to improve digital efficiency.
- Cost Management and Optimization demands a focus on program compliance, pricing conditions, cost reduction, and fee prevention.
- Sustainable Development needs to prioritize sustainable initiatives, such as reducing CO2 emissions, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
The GLC aims at gathering valuable insights to develop strategies that will transform business travel globally. Accor will compile the findings into a comprehensive report to be published later this year.
