Global Strategy Study: Spectacular PTC Perspectives!

Each morning at 08.30, before the main programme began, CINET convened four regional study meetings as part of its Global PTC Strategy Study – Roadmap 2050. Delegates from Eastern Europe, India, Western Europe and South East Asia gathered to review initial desk research findings and validate them against local reality. The picture that emerged was complex, honest and full of opportunity

What the Meetings Covered

The four sessions each followed the same structure: CINET presented the Phase 1 desk research findings for the relevant region, and local industry professionals challenged, confirmed or refined those findings based on their direct experience. The meetings were open to all industry professionals, free of charge, and could also be followed via Microsoft Teams — a reflection of CINET’s commitment to making this research genuinely global.

The Headline Finding: A Sector in Transformation

Across all four area discussions, one broad trend consistently surfaced: the dry cleaning business is changing rapidly. Consumer behaviour is changing as well, urban density is shifting, and the economics of conventional retail dry cleaning are under structural pressure in mature markets. At the same time self-service laundromats are increasing rapidly and on-demand laundry services, B2B industrial textile care, healthcare outsourcing, hospitality partnerships, and technology-enabled retail concepts are all showing strong momentum across different geographies. The picture is one of rapid transformation, with significant new opportunities for operators who are ready to adapt and a long term great perspective.

What Comes Next

Phase 1 – the desk research – is almost complete. Phase 2 now is about to begin: validation through surveys and in-depth interviews across all 80+ countries covered by the study, combined with the rich input gathered during the area study meetings.

The interim findings will be presented at the CINET Global Strategy Study Event on July 7th, 2026. The final Global Report will be presented at EXPO DETERGO in Milan on October 23rd, 2026 – alongside the full GBPA 26 Awards program.
