Care homes need help in finding hygienic laundry solutions

At the recently held Textile Services Association (TSA) Autumn Conference in the UK, the outcomes of the large care home survey – in partnership with De Montfort University (DMU – were presented. General conclusion was that many UK care homes need support in finding  hygienic laundry solutions. This is in line with findings in the EU where equal conclusions were noted.

Like other associations, TSA laundries are working with experts to ensure that training, support and knowledge sharing are developed for both in-house and outsourced solutions. The target is to help the care home sector in making informed decisions when it comes to laundry operations. Commercial laundries  could provide a simple solution for care homes, ensuring that standards are met. “Outsourcing can also help alleviate the problems of staff shortages in the sector and it means care home staff have more time for residents. Besides maintaining high hygiene standards, commercial laundries are also known to be highly efficient and use fewer resources than the alternative.
