Founded in 2015 by Rami Shaar (CEO) and Jad Halaoui (COO), Washmen set out to disrupt the laundry industry in the UAE by providing a high-quality service through a solid tech foundation and a keen focus on unparalleled customer service. We originally started with an asset-light model connecting customers with logistics partners and existing laundromats.
Washmen are an app-based service available on iOS, Android and through our Powered Web Application (PWA). We visualize ourselves as the world’s best laundry service and do not just compete with other laundry providers but are also in direct competition with the washing machines and dryers at home.

Our strategy to vertically integrate across the supply chain was gradual. We were patient and diligent in our operations which helped us improve customer retention and profitability. After completing three successful years running operations in partnership with local laundromats, Washmen were ready to take things to another level.
Washmen today as an organization is stronger than we have ever been before. We maximize productivity and utilization of our two main facilities – Wash & Fold and Clean & Press. The Clean & Press facility spans 30,000 sq ft in the heart of Dubai and has allowed us to take full ownership of our supply chain. The Clean & Press facility can handle up to 25,000 items per day at peak utilization.
This has allowed us to become the largest retail laundry and dry clean operator in the United Arab Emirates.
One of Washmen’s main strengths is our software. There is a fully fledged in-house software development team that has paved the way for our rapid growth and success. Our software team oversees the development and management of our proprietary software designed to address customer’s pain points.
Washmen operates with a flat but sturdy structure which allows for there to be easier dissemination of information, increased responsibility, improved collaboration, and higher productivity.
