Podab – established in 1945 – is a family-owned business that specializes in providing laundry equipment to both the professional and self-service sectors all around the world. At the moment, the company is launching professional drying cabinets in the North American market that provide a versatile and reliable solution for drying a variety of items, from clothes and textiles to PPE and accessories.
The company’s drying cabinets are exclusively produced at modern production facilities in southern Sweden. The company cooperated with Healthy Firefighters in Sweden in the development of an innovative drying cabinet. Stefan Magnusson – founder of the Swedish Healthy Firefighters – played an important role in the project and he also developed new routines for fire stations to reduce exposure to dangerous substances.
The new drying cabinet for protective gear – the FC 20 – has a unique construction and the drying process is gentle and efficient. The result is that the gear is ready to be used again within 3-4 hours. According to Magnusson it is important to realize that after an alarm, the PPE is a potential danger for firefighters. Therefore, one should make sure that the PPE is removed from the body immediately after every operation, as well as washed and dried in a timely manner.
