CWS Workwear opens Innovation Lab for sustainable textiles

The new CWS Workwear Innovation Lab – located in the German town of Dreieich – combines an innovative concept of laboratory and showroom in an industrial style. The lab is designed to test newly launched products and materials and also serves as a training hub.

With customer-oriented workshops on various topics, the company offers customers and interested parties the opportunity to expand their insight into the world of sustainable textiles. Participants can also take a look behind the scenes of a testing laboratory and see the quality standards for themselves. Operating at the forefront of sustainable workwear for many years, the company has developed and produced many workwear collections using the latest technology and environmentally friendly materials. The company states to be on track to achieve its goal of doubling the product lifespan by 2030 and minimising quality defects, which will drastically reduce  laundry investments and significantly reduce the amount of waste.

In the Innovation lab, the company conducts analyses to extend the lifespan of their textiles, focusing on textile forensics, quality and sustainability standards, as well as detailed and professional fault analysis. The initiative applies to both new product developments and workwear already in use, reinforcing commitment to a circular business model.
