The CINET Board is pleased to be able to announce that it was decided that the Lifetime Awards 2024 will be provided to Mrs. Carol Memberg, owner and publisher of the newspaper National Clothesline in the USA and to Mr. TP Chan, Founder and President of Laundry Network Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.
Earlier this year the CINET Board invited Co-Host partners of the WORLD CONGRESS & Best Practices Awards 24, to raise candidates for this Global LIFE TIME Award. This resulted eventually in several candidates and a decision of the Executive Board to present this prestigious award to Mrs. Carol Memberg and Mr. TP Chan. The presentation is planned for the Official CINET Best Practices Awards Ceremony on November 9 in Europe Hall 4 in Frankfurt, Germany and will be streamed, as the rest of the program, worldwide.
Carol Memberg joined the industry in 1961 when she and her husband, Sol, founded the National Clothesline, a newspaper for the textile care industry that provides news and information needed by garment care professionals to be successful in a rapidly changing industry. Over 60 years later, around 15,000 cleaners and their suppliers throughout the United States and around the world receive it monthly by mail — and now, with modern technology available, each current issue is available on the Web. Like many of the companies in the industry it serves, the publication is still a small, family-owned enterprise, and although there is now a second generation leading the day-to-day business, Carol still maintains active participation as the president of BPS Communications, Inc, the owner of National Clothesline and as the Publisher of the newspaper.
Over the years, Carol has ensured that National Clothesline has been a strong supporter of the Industry, helping to not only promote the latest developments and by ensuring that the industry is aware of any future challenges.
TP Chan has a wealth of experience in the laundry industry spanning over 5 decades. He specialises in laundry design and planning for large scale commercial laundries. As a Laundry Consultant, he has undertaken many projects in Singapore, Asia Pacific, Middle East. The Westin Hotels where he worked for more than 14 years, awarded him the prestigious Thurston-Dupar Inspirational Award and was recognized as ‘Father of Laundry’ by Westin for his professionalism. In 2009, TP Chan pioneered the adoption of RFID and transformed handling of uniform to technology-driven operations.
His application of RFID technology was also showcased in Singapore Youth Olympic Games 2010. Driven by his passion, TP Chan has actively participated as guest speaker in international conferences. His professional standing was validated by reputable publications, Men at The Hem, Who’s Who of Singapore Towkay, Spirit of Enterprise, Will to Win, Soar-A Panorama of Leading Personalities from Singapore’s Most Successful SME.
