In the US it when laundry operators gain additional space, new customer offerings are created to improve the laundromat’s user experience. Some examples:
One store owner used a small, closed-off area separate from his laundry and decided to enlarge the space and install a few automatic, completely sealed off self-serve dog washes. Customers could use them – without the “wet dog smell” – while doing laundry. Another entrepreneur recently added a simple, new profit centre: a massage chair. His location appeared to be the only business in the area that offers this type of customer service and it attracted new customers! Other examples of additional laundromat services are a coffee shop or an in-house sneaker care/cleaning. Some of these extra services are stated to provide an extra 10 percent to 15 percent of revenue each month.
