Washing with cold water, less sorting, lower utility costs and increased washing capacity sound like dreams come true for the professional laundry industry. Late 2022, Christeyns – a multinational detergent company – introduced a new total concept that consists of an ozone generator and dedicated chemicals to be combined in a washing process: Rapid-O.
Product manager at the Italian headquarters – Riccardo Bassan – explained the concept. According to Bassan, the use of specialized laundry products in combination with ozone is unique in the market. Together with a compact and very efficient ozone generator, the concept allows washing at low temperatures and with shorter cycles.
The process is stated to not only increase the washing capacity, but it also prolongs the life of fabrics, and guarantees wonderful softness and whiteness. Through 2 regulated outlets, the ozonized air can be transported to 2 independent wash extractors with a combined capacity of up to 80 kg. The system doses a very low amount of ozone (only 0.2-0.4 ppm) which is continuously injected into the operating scrubber extractor. This low and continuous flow of ozone ensures both excellent system safety and guaranteed quality.
