Last Christmas , London-based laundry start-up ihateironing partnered with UK charity for people experiencing homelessness – Crisis at Christmas – to provide free laundry services to people enduring homelessness. In the previous year, the campaign had supported nearly 3,500 individuals and provided warm accommodation to 450 people in London hotels. This year, more than 400 guests – who would have otherwise been sleeping rough over Christmas- were hosted.
Guests who stayed at the ‘Crisis at Christmas’ hotels across London received free service washes over the period of their stays, with items collected and delivered again to their accommodation.
Matt Connelly, the company’s founder and CEO stated that “Providing free laundry services to those experiencing homelessness during the holiday season is not just about clean clothes; it’s about restoring dignity and contributing to the journey of positive change alongside the work that Crisis is doing. As a small business, it’s a great feeling to bring together the efforts of our team and our cleaners and really make a difference.”
The partnership agrees with the company’s ongoing commitment to support local charities, as they believe that small gestures can leave a big impact. The initiative has to demonstrate the company’s dedication to making a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
