After the recent take-over of laundry and linen group Shortridge in the UK’s North West, Canadian laundry firm K-Bro Linen confirmed to be further extending its operations in the UK. The company already owns Scottish laundry brand Fishers.

Canada-based K-Bro was founded in 1954 and has become the country’s largest operator of laundry and linen processing sites. It runs ten processing sites and two distribution centres under the brands K-Bro Linen Systems and Buanderie HMR. In 2017 the company acquired Fishers, which operates five sites in Scotland and the North East of England. This laundry firm focuses on the hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors.

Linda McCurdy – president and CEO of K-Bro – stated that although original plans to grow presence in the UK were interrupted by the Covid pandemic, the firm remains seeking further growth opportunities in the UK. McCurdy: “This is a great opportunity for us to diversify our customer base in the UK and to position our combined UK business for more growth as we look to extend our geographic reach further south into the UK.”
