As in many other sectors, the textile care industry too requires young talent. The question is ‘how do you reach young people’? In Germany, the textile cleaners’ guild Berlin-Brandenburg reaches out to them via videos and social media.
For instance, a recent short video clip starts with the statement “Your new job? A crisis-proof thing.” In 1:47 minutes, it is made clear why the job of a textile cleaner is so diversely interesting and absolutely crisis-proof. Torsten Matusch from Cleanteam Berlin explains that there will always be clothes and there will always be dirt. So … textile cleaners will always be in demand. “Become a textile cleaner … and the future belongs to you!”The Brandenburg Guild has also produced a video when young people in Berlin were asked what came to mind when they thought of a job as a dry cleaner.” Their answers? Relevant and worth seeing. There is also an image video on the textile cleaning profession that was created with the fashion school Berlin and guild member Fischer & Thiele.
The overall message? Professional textile care is much more than just washing clothes.
The textile care industry has a lot to offer and constantly provides young talent with new challenges. In other words… a textile cleaner has a real dream job!
