America’s Best Cleaners (ABC) has recently announced the extension of its partnership with ‘Dress for Success’ Pittsburgh in 2024. Their EmpowerWear programme – a collaborative initiative focused on supporting local communities and promoting environmental sustainability – has shown significant achievements since its launch. One way of support is providing ‘gently used’ professional and casual attire to women in need, fostering economic independence and enhancing access to employment opportunities.
Together with its local affiliate, Owl Cleaners, ABC will continue its commitment to collecting ‘gently used’ women’s professional and casual clothing and the 2023 pilot program will be further expanded and developed to maximize its positive impact on the community.
Through biannual collection campaigns and an engaging social media presence, the EmpowerWear partnership proves to be successful. ABC executive director Chris White points out the significance of the Dress For Success program by stating that the program only empowers women, but also corresponds with the company’s core values of garment sustainability and circularity. Apart from that, it has a positive influence on internal team culture and has a lasting impact since it has a minimizing impact on the environment.
