Laundries need chemicals and solvents to do their work. Rising prices and the increasing demand for ecological products have started to play a vital role in their operations, as well as wash results. A UK colleague trade journal dived into the matter by asking three providers what the market has to offer in this puzzle. CINET presents an overview of the outcomes.

Thomas Zeck – commercial director for Textile Care at Kreussler – put it like this. His company provides a varied portfolio for both small laundries and for industrial laundry. As examples, he mentioned a highly concentrated heavy-duty detergent for bleaching, and an optical brightener. Both can be added via the company’s dosing systems to “ensure a particularly economical use of chemicals.” Bob Morrish – Ecolab’s UK and Ireland corporate accounts director and division manager Textile Care – mentioned solutions for hospitality textiles and for professional and heavy soiled workwear to be integrated with the company’s enVision data management system.

Finally, Luca Caramaschi – Rampi’s export manager – mentioned four new products to the company’s existing line which “are now available for use with automatic dosing systems.” Apart from that, the company has a new range of universal Destain prespotters which are “extremely gentle on fibres” and therefore suitable for wetcleaning, drycleaning and traditional water washing.
