The Lycra Company have recently launched the Lycra naturalFX technology – a textile finishing process for 100% cotton knit garments designed for mass market applications. Developed in collaboration with HeiQ, the technology enhances durable comfort stretch, fit and soft hand-feel on 100% cotton knitwear. Even after repeated washing and wearing, it helps the fabrics retain shape.
Nicolas Banyols – the company’s chief commercial officer – stated that the technology not only improves the performance of everyday 100% cotton knitwear, but it is also easy for mills to implement as it requires no investment in new equipment. All knits that are processed with the technology can be submitted to the company’s labs for quality control testing to ensure all consumer benefits.
HeiQ will not only collaborate and support the introduction through its brand network, but will also manufacture and sell the finishing technology directly to textile mills. Mike Mordente – its head of the textiles business unit – stated that the cooperation of the two companies has resulted in a added-value technology that provides a new generation of enhanced stretch and recovery garments with comfort and durability.
