ETSA presents paper on Extended Producer Responsibility Scheme (EPR)

The European Textile Service Association (ETSA) has recently completed a so-called ‘position paper’ on the subject of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). With this paper, the Association underlines the inherent circularity in the textile services industry in view of the changes and developments in waste scheme regulations.

The paper also shows the commitment to waste reduction and reuse of textile goods, at the same time the call for more research and funding as well as clearer definitions of standard terms such as “waste” is being presented. Finally, the European Commission is urged to respect nuances in sorting textiles, such as Workwear, PPE, etc.
