In the post-lockdown phase of the Corovavirus crisis, the face masks have become an essential accessory. In this context, more and more reusable cloth masks are being used, instead of the disposable ones. They represent a more sustainable option, matching the daily operations in a better manner.
Reusable face masks are designed for a limited number of washing cycles, whose exact figure depends on each mask’s specifications. An accurate tracking of the exact number of cycles is therefore necessary. Datamars is using a small RFID tag in the mask, each washing cycle being effortlessly recorded. When the maximum allowed number of washing cycles has been reached, the mask is put aside and recycled. The operation has a positive impact of the efficiency and allows to check that the mask was cleaned and that it didn’t exceed the maximum number of cycles.
