ihateironing is an on-demand drycleaning and laundry delivery service in the UK. The startup is based on a group of local independent drycleaners operating under the ihateironing.com brand. The business was founded in 2014 by Matthew Connelly in the (Greater) London area and has since expanded to various other cities across the country, as well as New York in the US.
By now, the company has become profitable and self-sustaining, and has reached the milestone of 100,000 customers. At the moment, ihateironing has over 70 dry-cleaning partners and supports them with a stable and reliable income every month. According to CEO and founder – Matthew Connelly – the impact of such growth to local businesses is very favourable and to him that is the most gratifying part of running the business. He stated that because the partnering dry-cleaning centres have experienced substantial growth in their businesses, many of them found their lives changing for the better thanks to the improved revenues they sustained by being a part of the network.
