WASHCO expands …

Three years after its launch, commercial laundry specialist WASHCO, has broadened its scope in the UK by acquiring Sheffield-base Goodman Sparks Commercial Laundry.

The company intends to combine national coverage with local service. The acquisition is to support this aim and will result in new premises and fleet for the Goodman Sparks team, thus helping to maintain their quality service for their clients. Commenting on the acquisition, the company’s managing director, Peter Hosking and sales director, James Holmes, stated that it means an opportunity to be present in the North of England. It will be  a valuable boost to UK presence and will enable to support an even wider range of clients across the UK.”

Goodman Sparks managing director, Jonathan Sparks, added that when WASHCO was first formed three years ago, he already saw opportunities in joining forces to fill in the geographical gap between the UK regions of Midlands and Scotland. He also acknowledged feelings of sadness because after 51 years of being our family business, this is coming to a close. However, he states to be certain of the new progress potential for all parties included. Goodman Sparks Commercial Laundry will continue to trade using its current name before rebranding as WASHCO later this year.
