US-based Biosan, LLC recently announced that their product OXYCARE has received The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval of claims for sanitization and disinfection of laundry with peracetic acid. EPA is an independent agency of the United States federal government for environmental protection.
The product received approvals for sanitization and disinfection of laundry in commercial, institutional and industrial operations including hospitality laundry operations, in order to control microorganisms including Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The no rinse, non-foaming 15.0% peracetic acid sanitizer is registered by the EPA for use in the USA.
Oxycare is a strong oxidant and sanitizer with bleaching and disinfecting characteristics that are said to be gentler on fabrics than bleach. The product requires less water than traditional laundry programs and saves energy costs with proven effectiveness at temperatures till 68º F.
