Tokyo – At the yearly organised Clean Business Forum this year the Japan Textile Care Institute, presided by mr. Masashi Shimenoki, was invited by the organiser to set up a Business Forum on Professional Textile Care. Mr. Shimenoki is widely appreciated in the Japanese textile care industry for his dedicated work on improving cleaning technologies and setting up the Japan Textile Care Institute, especially for encouraging high end Fashion Care.

Huge market growth
Mr. Peter Wennekes, CINET President/CEO, presented a key-note speech on “The Exciting World of Professional Textile Care (PTC)”. In a declining market for drycleaning in Japan the perspective for professional retail and industrial textile cleaning is huge, like in most other countries in the world. Question is: can the industry make a turn around and invest in these new opportunities. The changing markets are there, but require a complete new approach to meet the needs of new (young) customers.
