DTV annual industry meeting: ‘Changing labor market, digitization & PTC novelties’

From the 8th until the 10th of September, The German Professional Textile Care association DTV hosted its annual meeting with a good attendance in Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Starnberg close to Munich. Mr. Leon Wennekes (Secretary General CINET) attended the meeting on behalf of CINET.

The event started on Friday evening of the 8th of September with a neat dinner organized next to the beautiful lake of the ‘Starnberger See’. At the event the WRP Stars of 2017 were announced, showcasing State of the Art PTC businesses in Germany, both in dry cleaning and industrial laundry.

The industry meeting was opened by Mr. Friedrich Eberhard, the President of DTV. The German market is experiencing the impact of digitization and a changing society. In this respect Ms. Prof. Dr. Jutta Rump from the Institut für Beschäftigung und Employability IBE was invited for a key note speech on mega trends and how to cope with them with a special focus towards the employees from different generations. Her key message: describe a clear strategy and process which employees are to follow and allow considerations within this framework.

The program was furthermore filled with a round table discussion with the theme: ‘Market, machinery, the work force – all digital?’. The round table was setup with experts from different perspectives which lead to interesting discussions as well as interaction with the audience. Furthermore some plenary sessions were organized so the visitor could choose a topic of interest. Apart from these interesting presentations, DTV provided a program full of networking opportunities and its general assembly for members.
