Ecolab Inc., a major global supplier of water, hygiene and energy technologies and services ranks 26th on Barron’s second annual listing of the 100 most sustainable companies in the U.S., up three spots compared to the company’s 2018 position.
The company claims that sustainability is core to its purpose to make the world cleaner, safer and healthier. Not only by providing solutions to help customers achieve ambitious business and environmental goals, but also by being committed to improving its own environmental footprint.
Barron’s, is a leading investment publication in the USA. To determine the 100 most sustainable companies, the company has – in partnership with Calvert Research and Management – analysed the 1,000 largest publicly held U.S. companies and scored them on more than 200 key indicators and 28 issues. Calvert then sorted the data into five key categories: shareholders, employees, customers, planet and community. Companies with the highest weighted scores in each of the five categories were included in the list.
