Foundation of DLAI India; Connect and Grow – New CINET member

Bangalore, 14 February; With great enthusiasm at the Laundrex show in Bangalore India, the foundation of the Drycleaners & Launderers Association India was celebrated. This newly established association was founded by 23 members who managed to get a good support in a short period of time. CINET was accepted as international partner to provide support and knowledge for setting up activities India wide.

After extensive discussions and a very successful National Conference 4 months earlier in New Delhi, over 1200 attendants were registered. The 23 founding members agreed to establish this new association to unify companies and associations in several provinces and to create one platform to deal with the interests of the India drycleaning and laundry sector.


At the official foundation session in Bangalore the program was outlined and discussed with some 150 members present. Among the tasks for the newly installed board were agreed upon organisation of education and training, certification, lobbying recognition for the industry, labour issues and to establish international liaison and support.

Working groups
The Board presided by Mr. Suresh Bhatia presented a structure of working groups to deal with the agreed tasks and got good support of new members to take this forward.

Activity planning
The membership of CINET was agreed and CINET was invited to organise and coordinate international support, to deliver knowledge and expertise to provide a wide range of training and education, as well as to start co-branded CERCLEAN certification. CINET will also support DLAI with setting up the secretariat and execute a coherent plan to deliver member service within a short period of time.
